    Burnie Project Officer - Part Time


    FPT is looking for someone to deliver health promotion activities in school and community settings on the North West Coast.  In 2018, the focus will be on implementing FPT’s LARC4U project which aims to increase knowledge and access to Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) and reduce unplanned pregnancy.

    Are you – skilled at working with groups? Have an interest in youth and people who work with youth?  Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Are you skilled at managing multiple responsibilities?  Are you self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision?

    Family Planning Tasmania are looking for a passionate education professional with skills and experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of professional learning programs.  This project officer will be responsible for reviewing, updating and enabling digital access to our professional learning programs.  You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to consult effectively with stakeholders.  You will have a good understanding of online learning and the professional learning needs of the education, disability and community sectors.

    The Growing Up Program – Casual Educators (State-wide)

    The Growing Up Program, by Family Planning Tasmania, is a respectful relationships, sexuality and protective behaviours education program for students from K-6.  We are looking for skilled educators with relevant qualifications and skills to join our team.

    As a Growing Up Educator you will be part of a skilled and supportive team, working with students and parents in Tasmanian Primary Schools.  You will be able to plan, deliver and evaluate education sessions and build strong relationships with school staff.  You will have a passion for providing students with accurate and age-appropriate information to support their social and physical development with a focus on safety and wellbeing.

    Available 3 or more days a week, you will be based at one of our offices (Glenorchy, Launceston or Burnie) and report to the Education, Training & Health Promotion Manager.

    Family Planning Tasmania has a stable group of experienced and professional General Practitioners specialising in sexual and reproductive health.  We are interested in hearing from doctors with an interest in sexual and reproductive health and willingness to be part of a highly skilled team of clinicians.

    The position would suit vocationally recognised doctors, who would like to complement their existing general practice work.

    We require our doctors to have the Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health for Medical Practitioners (nationally recognised) and to become IUD inserters within their first year of working at FPT. FPT will assist you in becoming qualified in both these areas.

    Career path opportunity for a Registered Nurse at Family Planning Tasmania

    We are offering a career path opportunity for a registered nurse to join our team in Launceston and commit to a fully funded training program to gain certification in cervical screening and sexual & reproductive health.  This position is permanent part time 5 days per fortnight, commencing in January 2018. Flexibility with work hours to cover staff leave is also desirable.

    To apply for this position, you must be:

    • A registered nurse with minimum 2 years post registration nursing experience;
    • Registered with AHPRA;
    • Qualified in cervical screening or committed to obtaining the Certificate within 6 months;
    • Qualified in Sexual & Reproductive Health or committed to obtaining the Certificate within 6 months of commencement.
    • Available to travel interstate for Certificate theory training.
