Burnie Clinic – Nurse

We are seeking a Nurse to join our team in Burnie. This casual position is initially to cover 6 weeks leave, from 19th Feb to 26th March 2020, followed by the strong likelihood of ongoing casual work, if desired. Paid training/orientation would commence January 2020.

As part of the FPT team, you’ll work in a collegial and supportive environment to help make a difference in the lives of Tasmanians. Our core clients are under 21, people living with a disability, Concession Card holders, Indigenous Australians, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

FPT nurses deliver or support many sexual and reproductive health services including cervical screening tests, STI checks, contraception and medication termination of pregnancy (MTOP). FPT is one of the few organisations in the state offering MTOP and we are proud of our leadership in this area.

Essential criteria:

  • A nurse with minimum 2 years post registration nursing experience;
  • Evidence of recent currency of practice.
  • Registered with AHPRA;
  • need excellent primary care consultation skills with patients

Desirable criteria:

  • Certificate in Cervical screening;
  • Nurse Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant social, cultural, lifestyle, diversity and sexuality issues of Tasmanian clients.
