This booklet is intended to provide basic information to a young person who thinks they may be pregnant and the options that are available. It is not intended to replace information from doctors and other service providers and is designed to act as a starting point. Every attempt has been made to ensure the information provided is correct however please be aware that information can change over time.
This booklet has been produced as part of the Making Choices Project – A project aimed at supporting young people to make good choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
The idea for this booklet came from a group of young people who thought it would be useful if young people could access the same information about being pregnant, regardless of which doctor or support service they went to.
The biggest thank you goes to the young women who either allowed Making Choices to come and talk to their group or filled in questionnaires. Thank you also to those workers who assisted in this process.
The booklet has been designed to provide some of the information you might need if you think you are pregnant. It is basic information and we encourage you to seek more information and support from family, friends and services.
It tells you a bit about one of the choices you may want to consider if you are pregnant, who can help and support you and other things to consider …
Information about particular services that can support you is listed at the end of this publication.
