acknowledgements

This booklet has been produced as part of the Making Choices program – a program aimed at supporting young people to make good choices about their sexual and reproductive health.

We would like to thank the Department of Health and Human Services’ Adoptions and Out of Home Care Services and the Catholic Private Adoption Agency for their assistance in developing this booklet. We would also like to thank the many youth and health care workers who contributed their time in editing, proofreading and reviewing this booklet.

The idea for the Making Choices booklets came from a group of young people who thought it would be useful if young people could access the same information about the options available to young
pregnant women, regardless of which doctor or support service they went to.

The other booklets available in this series are:

  • Making Choices: A booklet for young women who think they might be pregnant.
  • Being young...and pregnant...and about to be a mum.
  • Making Choices: A booklet for young women who are pregnant and do not want to continue the pregnancy.
  • Relationships...sex...and you : A guide for young people, male and female, who want to know more about intimate relationships.

making choices

If you are young and pregnant you may be feeling unsure about what to do next. The Making Choices program has developed a series of booklets to help you be more informed and confident about the choices that you can make.

These booklets provide basic information about pregnancy, contraception, abortion, relationships and parenting, and they list the services that will support you in the choices you make.
